Aaron Evans Architects wins Civic Society Award

The Civic Society Award recognises the high quality of the design and construction of these new homes. This gateway new development is an attractive, prominent land mark development at the entrance to Chippenham Town Centre. In his introduction to the scheme at the Awards ceremony on 15th May, local Architect and advisor to the Civic Society, Jack Konynenburg, said:

"Chippenham Civic Society, with Councils and other agencies, makes every effort to improve the quality of the town's riverside, repairing the damage inflicted upon it by poor development during the 60's and 70's. The building previously occupying the site was an awful blot on the riverside landscape, and it has been a huge pleasure for all to see it replaced by such a fine piece of architecture. The building is sculptural and contemporary, it reflects the historic industrial use of the area, relates well to the river, and is a great landmark on a major entrance to the town. It also provides much needed quality town centre homes."

Aaron Evans Architects Director, Kevin Murphy said, "we are very pleased to have received the Award and would like to thank the Civic Society for their recognition of our work".
