Avon Street

The challenge was to create a form of architecture that respects the grain of the City and, at the same time, seeks to knit together two of the more recent developments, all of which have differing scales and levels of detail.

The practice developed the design of a 4 storey building and a 5 storey block.  Both have a recognisably contemporary flavour but the "flesh" of the buildings, its material, and the scale and proportion is, recognisably, Bath. The two blocks create and inner courtyard and internally the elevations are livelier, in keeping with the youth and energy of its occupants.
