Combe Down School

The award-winning New School Hall is set in the village of Combe Down on the outskirts of Bath, a World Heritage site. It is a much needed addition to the school, providing a space for various activities as well as providing a venue for evening meetings and social events for the local community. The new facility fits comfortably into the surrounding built fabric. The selection of materials; timber louvers, natural stone and cedar cladding result in a building that is sympathetic to the surrounding dwellings without mimicking their vernacular form.
